Meet Diane. She's a wife and mother of two, teacher, singer, artist, antique seller on eBay and one of the many writers whose articles are featured on this site.  Diane graciously agreed to be the first writer interviewed for FWBW's blog.  Read on to learn a few things about Diane...

Q.  How long have you been writing?
A:  I have been writing for most of my life.  I only began getting published last year, when I joined eHow.

Q.  What do you write and why?
A.Poetry, song lyrics and I've dabbled in children's books.  I have always loved words and the power they have to move us, inspire us and to help others.  (Uh, Diane didn't mention anything about writing "how-to" articles, but trust me, she's a prolific writer on eHow.)

Q. What's your favorite website(s)?
A. eHow (Not only is she a contributing article writer, she's also a frequent contributor in the site forum.)  TheOneRing.net ("I am a hopeless Tolkien fanatic") and eBay, to buy and sell.

Q. What's your favorite blog?
A. Hmmm...I'll have to admit that I find blogs a bit baffling, and so don't really follow any at the moment.

Q. What inspires you?
A. Beautiful Sunsets, the stirring strains of a Symphony, seeing my son in uniform (he is in the Army)

Q. Favorite recipe?
A. That would be Diane's Excellent Rhubarb Pie
and of course the crust!  Diane's Super Flaky Pie Crust

Q. Favorite beauty item?
A.
This is going to sound corny, but my favorite beauty item is Bag Balm.  It was created over 100 years ago to heal cows udders.  It is the only thing I have found that keeps my hands and feet soft and free of dryness and callouses.

Q. What woman has been most influential in your life?
A. My sister.  She is the most inspirational person I know.  There are just so many aspects of her life that have encouraged me in my own.  She lived through a painful divorce, yet rose above pettiness and herself with (in regards to her ex) dignity and grace.  She started out as a clerk in HR at a Fortune 500 company and worked her way all the way up to Director of HR.  She has faced down cancer TWICE and won!  She is the most wise, loving, caring, courageous person I have ever known.

Q. What's one thing you can't live without?
A. LOL...my jewelry!  I adore anything that is shiny and sparkles and literally drip with jewels.

Q. What's one goal you have for the coming year?
A. I would really like to see one of my childrens books published.  I need to get busy and start submitting, or figure out a way to self-publish.  That's been a dream of mine for years.  I think it's time to act on it.

Diane's article How to Give Yourself an Acupressure Facelift is featured in our Beauty & Fashion section.

I wish you well in making your dreams come true, Diane.
